Track contractor payments. Be 1099-ready at year end.

Keep an organized record of every contractor you pay. Store W-9 information, track payment history and year-to-date totals, and generate a 1099-ready report when tax season arrives — so you're not scrambling in January.

What you get

Contractor Profiles

Store legal name, business name, contractor type, email, phone, mailing address, and encrypted TIN.

Payment Tracking

Link expense transactions to contractors and see payment history plus YTD totals per contractor.

1099 Threshold Alerts

See which contractors have crossed the $600 1099 reporting threshold. Corporations are automatically marked exempt.

1099-Ready Report

Generate a PDF or CSV report with everything you need to file — organized by contractor with payment totals.

W-9 Status Tracking

Track which contractors have W-9 on file and which need attention — so nothing is missing at tax time.

Encrypted TIN Storage

SSN/EIN data is encrypted with AES-256. Only the last 4 digits show by default; full reveal requires explicit action.

How it works

1

Add your contractors

Create a profile with their name, business name, type, address, and W-9 information.

2

Link payments to contractors

When you log a contractor payment, assign it to their profile. YTD totals calculate automatically.

3

Monitor the $600 threshold

Summary cards show 1099-eligible contractors (paid ≥$600, not a corporation) and anyone missing a W-9.

4

Generate your 1099-ready report

At year-end, export a PDF or CSV with contractor details, payment totals, and TIN data for your accountant.

Your data & privacy

Contractor tax identification numbers (SSN/EIN) are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. The full number is never displayed by default — only the last 4 digits are shown (e.g., •••-••-1234). You can temporarily reveal the full TIN when needed. TIN data is used only to prepare your 1099-ready reports and is never shared externally. If you prefer not to store a TIN in the app, you can mark "Tax ID stored elsewhere" and still track payments.

Plan availability

Contractors / 1099 tracking is a Business plan feature. This tool helps you organize contractor payments — it does not file 1099 forms with the IRS.
